THE FUTURE OF TMC RELATIONSHIPS FROM THE TRAVEL BUYER AND TMC EXECUTIVE PERSPECTIVE
Over a 2-week period at the end of April 2021, FESTIVE ROAD conducted a survey with 114 global travel buyers and also undertook 18 “deep-dive” interviews with both buyers and TMC sales leadership to understand how the TMC sourcing process has changed since the pandemic.
With 69% of travel buyers saying that the traditional long-form RFP was no longer fit-for-purpose, it is clear that new processes are required by the sector to source their right servicing partner.
The research showed key areas of recommendation for the sector, with the top three as follows;
- 88% said they would like to hear more from specialists within the TMC, not just the sales team
- 82% said they’d like to better understand the TMCs long-term strategy and value proposition
- 74% said they’d like to know more about the TMCs company culture and values
