Last year, FESTIVE ROAD declared 2021 as the beginning of ‘The Era Of Purposeful Travel’, where companies will become more focussed on where the true value of business travel lies.

The pause in travel volumes during the pandemic, and changes to the way organisations operate, provided a unique opportunity to think about travel as an enabler versus a budget line.

We developed and shared the Purposeful Travel Model to help organisations define and assess their different types of travel and determine whether they can be delivered in a virtual or face to face environment and deliver on their objectives.

Over 400 companies downloaded the model and at the end of last year we asked this group for their input on how beneficial the resource has been to them and what they’d like to see next.

A stand-out headline statistic was that an incredible 88% of respondents stated that they already have or intend to adopt a ‘purposeful’ approach to travel within their organisation! This is great news!

We also asked how the purposeful travel model resource has impacted the travel manager role and what you’d like to see from us next to help you develop your own purposeful pathway forward.
